Quick Read
With so many aspects of digital innovation that DACHSER is currently working on, how do we prioritize projects that actually have a future and deliver real added value?
At DACHSER, we have various ways of identifying promising projects. Our Corporate Research & Development team continuously monitors market trends and new technologies to determine how they can improve our competitive position. We also operate the strategic priority program “Idea2net,” in which employees around the globe submit ideas and suggestions, which are then further developed together with local teams and central steering committees. We also work with universities, partners, and research institutes, such as the Fraunhofer Society, to research innovations in logistics and ensure that our projects generate operational added value for customers and employees.

How does DACHSER succeed in fostering a digital mindset, and why is it important to you that all employees are part of this journey?
Establishing a digital mindset is one of our greatest challenges, as technologies are evolving rapidly, software products are becoming more interchangeable, and people have to deal with these ongoing changes. With our Digitalization Priority Program, we work closely with managers and employees, offering webinars, e-learning modules, workshops, and other exchange formats. In this way, we promote the acceptance of change and actively support the use of new technologies. All of this is crucial for our future success and, at the same time, meets the expectations of younger generations who take digital and supportive solutions for granted in their everyday work.

When you think of global supply chains within the DACHSER network: Where will digitalization deliver the greatest benefits?
Our central goal is to better connect our global air, sea, and road transport operations. Digitalization plays a key role in this by increasing supply chain transparency, connecting internal data with external information, improving data quality, and making information more accessible to customers. Digitalization helps us manage complex global processes more efficiently and continuously improve our service.
