Frigoscandia is now DACHSER – this has been a reality in Finland since the turn of the year. Food logistics will also be handled there under the name DACHSER Finland in the future. Full integration on site follows DACHSER’s acquisition of the Scandinavian food logistics company in early 2024. Nothing will change for customers: they can continue to rely on their usual contacts, first-class operational processes, and the same high quality of service.
Quick Read
The complete integration of Frigoscandia’s Finnish activities into DACHSER Finland marks another milestone in the European development of DACHSER’s food logistics business. The merger combines Frigoscandia’s long-standing local expertise with DACHSER’s European network, modern IT systems, and broad logistics portfolio. It underscores the global logistics provider’s commitment to high-quality and reliable food logistics in Finland and throughout Europe.
“The integration brings many advantages for our customers: they benefit from greater resilience, wider geographical coverage, and optimized operational processes. We are bringing together the decades of expertise of two leading logistics companies,” says Tuomas Leimio, Managing Director European Logistics DACHSER Finland.

Leading logistics service provider for temperature-controlled foodstuffs
Frigoscandia’s management and commercial staff moved to the DACHSER branch in Kerava, north of Helsinki, in the fall of 2025. The terminal in Vantaa, which is equipped for food logistics, will continue to operate for the time being.
Following the integration, DACHSER Finland now has a total of 83 employees.
Frigoscandia has been a wholly owned subsidiary of DACHSER since 2024. Since its founding in 1948, the company has developed into a leading logistics service provider for temperature-controlled and frozen food in the Nordic region. Its service portfolio includes road transport with its own fleet, air and sea freight, and extensive storage capacities in multiple temperature zones. Over the decades, the company has built up a dense network in Sweden and is also represented in Finland, Denmark, Norway, and the Netherlands.
Since spring 2024, Frigoscandia AB has been wholly owned by DACHSER. This marked the start of its full integration into the DACHSER network. Customers in the Nordic countries now benefit from uniform quality standards.
Growth of DACHSER Finland
In addition, DACHSER Finland opened a new logistics center in Pirkkala, near the city of Tampere, in February 2025, offering additional capacity for export and import customers as well as for domestic transport. For the first time in Finland, DACHSER’s road transport, customs clearance, and air and sea freight services are now combined under one roof. The central location next to Tampere-Pirkkala Airport offers customers even faster and more reliable transport.
Thanks to our location in Tampere, we have shorter transport routes, even better service, and closer and more personal cooperation with customers
Previously, DACHSER was represented in Finland exclusively by its logistics center in Kerava. Thanks to the new location in Tampere, the logistics provider is now closer to customers in the Pirkanmaa and Satakunta regions in the southwest of the country.
“This means shorter transport routes, even better service, and closer and more personal cooperation with customers,” says branch manager Petri Palo.
