In the sixth episode of the DACHSER podcast Network Talk, we speak with Celestino Silva, Managing Director of European Logistics Iberia, about current developments and growth opportunities on the Iberian Peninsula, and how the business unit is being fully integrated into the European DACHSER network through the DRIVE project.

In conversation with Charlotte Goldstone, Celestino Silva traces the successful development of DACHSER Iberia since the acquisition of the Spanish logistics provider Azkar in 2012. He explains why a phased integration, shared values, and open communication were crucial to long-term success. Today, Iberia is a key hub in the network, reliably connecting companies with central European markets.

A central topic of the conversation is the DRIVE integration program. Through this initiative, DACHSER Iberia is fully aligning its processes, systems, and working methods with network standards. This is supported by the rollout of core systems as well as targeted training and change management measures for employees.

In addition, Celestino Silva provides insights into the economic strength of the Iberian Peninsula and DACHSER Iberia’s strategic growth areas. These include contract logistics, interlocking with air and sea logistics, and growth opportunities in wine and spirits. He also discusses Iberia’s role as a gateway between Europe and North Africa. DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery in five major cities and investments in new logistics locations in Zaragoza and Vitoria are also discussed.
