The seventh episode of the DACHSER podcast Network Talk features Alexander Tonn, Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Road Logistics at DACHSER. In conversation with podcast host Charlotte Goldstone, they discuss the current and future growth of the Road Logistics network and the role of post-merger integration in DACHSER’s long-term development.

It becomes clear that acquisitions realize their strategic value for DACHSER primarily through consistent integration. While integration processes were carried out step-by-step in the past, the company now pursues a focused approach: the rapid and complete integration of new units as the foundation for stability, transparency, and reliable quality in operations.

This approach becomes tangible through concrete examples from Road Logistics. These include the integrations of Müller Fresh Food Logistics in the Netherlands, Frigoscandia in the Nordic countries, and Brummer in Germany and Austria. With these acquisitions, DACHSER has strategically expanded its network coverage in Europe and, in particular, significantly strengthened its own food logistics capabilities.

A special focus of the episode is on Italy. With the establishment of the joint venture DACHSER & FERCAM Italia, in which DACHSER holds an 80 percent stake, a key milestone was reached in completing the European general cargo and contract logistics network. The episode highlights why the Italian market plays a key role for the European network and what added value the integration offers customers and partners.
